Bridge with gears

The Office of Sponsored Programs & Research Integrity鈥檚 (OSPRI) Bridge Internal Grants (BIG) Program provides funding to support faculty, staff, and students in the pursuit of research, scholarship, creative activities, and community outreach projects. Projects supported by the BIG should strive to adhere to one or more of the following:

鈼 align with UCM鈥檚 strategic goals and objectives,
鈼 expand student-involved and faculty-lead sponsored projects,
鈼 enable new, non-tenured faculty to gain practical experience with the grant proposal   and project management processes,
鈼 encourage senior, tenured faculty to explore initiatives that may lead to externally funded projects,
鈼 introduce faculty, staff, and students to community-related opportunities to enhance the broader impact of research and scholarly-driven public outreach
鈼 advance cooperative efforts between UCM and other institutions, businesses, and industries.

The BIG Program and funded through OSPRI's portion of indirect cost recovery.

NOTICE: Following the successful initial launch of the Bridge Internal Grants program, OSPRI is taking time to carefully review the feedback and insights gathered from the first cohort of applicants, recipients, and reviewers. Our goal is to implement meaningful improvements to the program structure, application process, and support resources. The revamped Bridge Internal Grant program will be relaunched this Spring with these enhancements in place, creating an even stronger program to fund innovative projects and ideas for UCM's faculty, staff, and students.  OSPRI will announce when the Bridge Internal Grant program is open for the next round of funding early 2026.
